Bowler of the Week

To those of you that know me very well, are going to laugh about this. I joined a bowling league after moving to Arizona. No big deal right? Lots of your everyday, average people bowl on leagues. Well....Up to this point I have bowled maybe 3-4 times my entire life . I am not a bowler, I don't know much about bowling. All I knew before joining this league, is you walk up throw the ball, and hope to knock some pins down.

Somehow my dear friend Penny, who has bowled since she was 5 years old talked me into joining her bowling league. I tried to tell her that I know nothing about bowling, but she told me my handicap would actually be good for her team. And so I joined. We bowl every Friday morning 3 games. My average is 103. My friends average is 168. I really am not very good. I just go for the socialization, and it gets me out of housework for the morning.

Last week, I bowled a pretty good series (for me) 128, 152, 125. Considering my average that's not bad. Today when I get to the alley, they start making announcements over the loud speaker. And then I hear, and our bowler for the week, whose average is 103, and last week bowled blah, blah, blah. Is Jane. What did he just say? Did he just say I was the bowler of the week? What did I do? How did this happen? I just started laughing, me...Bowler of the week. My friend Penny, who takes bowling a little bit more seriously than I do was surprised I was just standing there laughing. What is so funny? This is a moment to be proud of.

So, I am proudly letting all of you know, that today I was crowned the queen bowler of the week.

Jane! yer my idol! i love to bowl. my average is pathetic! my all time high is a 169. But my average is likely lower than yours. i just think the ball is too heavy.
