How Did He Know?

So, today I took my two youngest children in for check-ups. Alyson will be starting Kindergarten this fall, and I had some concerns about Coleman. I picked a doctor off of our insurance list, and called several. I chose the one I did, because he could get us in the soonest. I figured I might as well give him a try and see where it takes us.

I was talking to Dr Hatfield about my darling little guy Coleman, he is developmentally delayed. He has been behind from the first day we gazed into those beautiful black eyes of his. At 3 months of age, he was just like a newborn. He couldn't hold his head up, and he was almost the same birth weight. Coleman didn't walk until he was 17 months old. He has been behind from the start. This year Coleman is in 1st grade, and he is struggling, and performing at kindergarten level.

As the doctor and I were discussing memory loss, and other concerns I have had, he said to me. "he probably will have a really hard time trying to memorize the 13 Articles of Faith". . . Did he just say what I thought he said?

How did he know I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints?

Was it the fact that I have 5 children? Did he read where I put on the paperwork that I have a 19 yr old son, and under occupation I put missionary? Was my white lace showing through my shirt? Was it because I have that "glow" about me? How was it that he came to the conclusion?

I have thought a lot about this. What are my day to day actions speaking to others? Would someone see me or hear me and think, "she must be LDS, or "there is no way she is a member"?

I didn't expect to make this little discovery about myself at the doctors office today.

Enjoy the pictures of my little guy (and his partner in crime) Delayed or not, we love him just the same. And we are so thankful he is part of our Forever Family.
