My parents came down from Utah to spend the week with us. We had a great visit, despite the weather being in the high 90's. Upon arriving and looking around at where we live, my Dad wanted to know why I hadn't planted a garden. I gave him my excuses of not enough room, and how we don't know how long we are going to be here. What if I plant and right before harvest time and we move? It takes a lot of time and energy to plant and care for a garden.
My Dad being the professional gardener that he is, didn't take any of my excuses as valid, and we came up with a solution. http://www.squarefootgardening.com/
The perfect plan was set into place. We made boxes, we bought soil, we picked the perfect seeds, and gathered all the tools. And then I planted.
I forgot how much I love the smell of dirt, and feeling the soil in my hands. Being able to take a tiny little seed and watching it flourish into a plant.
Here are some pictures of my garden. Look for updates as it grows and matures.
