Back to School

School has started, and we are all getting back into the swing of things.
Tori, Cole and Aly are enjoying their new teachers and classmates. They are in 5th, 3rd, and 1st grades this year and so far so good!

Dallas is a Sophomore this year, and Tyler is Starting his first year of college at Weber State University.
Could you hear me sobbing last week when I had to say good bye to Tyler again? I just didn't get enough time with him this summer. But, he is doing great things, and is where he needs to be.
I changed departments at the school. I am working this year with some great kids in the Autism department. I am enjoying it a lot. These kids crack me up with the things they say, and do. My favorite saying this week was from a sweet boy who asked me, "who are you, and what have you done with Ms Jane?" It's hard to keep a straight face sometimes.

Everyday we have a "skill of the day" that we help teach to them. Things like, how to act during an assembly, ways to get the teachers attention, and exiting and entering a classroom. On Fridays instead of working on a skill the kids all tell their fave jokes to each other. I laughed so hard at the jokes they came up with. The kids are so sweet, and innocent. It is so refreshing!

There are challenges that come with this job, but I am learning a lot of new things, many in which I plan on using at home with my own children. Today I cut out paper money to be used as behavior bucks, and I took a trip to the dollar store to stock up on rewards for my children to buy with their behavior bucks. I hope that this ends up changing some negative behavior we've been dealing with.

It is looking like I will be having a daughter in law sometime in the near future. Tyler and Emily are not officially engaged, but might as well be. They are starting to make wedding plans. I am very excited about this...although still don't know how it is possible that my baby boy could be thinking about marriage...Reminds me of that song from Fiddler on the roof. Sunrise, Sunset.
I have been going through my semi-annual homesickness, and why do we live in Arizona phase lately. I am sooooooo tired of the hot, hot endless summer days and nights. I miss having the different seasons. Knowing that fall is on the horizon in Utah makes it more difficult to endure the 110 degree days. It is just not right to have it still be so hot here.
Jim has been crazy busy at work. He has put in a lot of long hours, and has had to be at the plant the last few Saturdays too. It looks like they are going to work Labor day week-end too. I feel bad for him, and hope that things ease up soon!! This is their craziest time of year. Everyone wants their stores completed for the holidays.
Here is a little family picture we had done a few weeks ago. For grins we had Emily join us in some of the pictures!
